BCS offers a wide range of services including: pathogen analysis, detection and enumeration, biosolids pathogen compliance, fecal contamination sourcing, and pathogen reduction and control. We are accredited for the analysis of various indicators and pathogens in water and solids. We regularly test environmental samples for pathogens and indicators: Hetrotrophic Plate Count (HPC) bacteria, total coliforms, fecal coliforms, Enterococci, fecal strep, Salmonella, E. coli, Legionella, Amoeba (Naegleria fowleri), Helminth ova, parasites, (Cryptosporidium and Giardia), coliphages, and enteric viruses (enteroviruses).
In addition to our indicator and pathogen monitoring services, BCS conducts extensive testing to validate filtration process efficacy, filter media efficacy, and pathogen removal efficacy by point of use devices. Studies are based on NSF/ANSI and EPA purifier testing protocols. Based on study sponsor's requests, standard ASTM or NSF/ANSI purifier testing protocols are utilized. We can also customize testing protocols and designs studies that address our customers' needs and goals. The studies are based on parameters outlined in WHO protocol, International Standards, EPA Purifier Test Protocol, Standard NSF 42, Standard NSF 53, NSF 55, NSF 58, NSF P231, NSF P244, NSF 419, and/or NSF P248. Our studies are designed to provide our clients with comprehensive and detailed information about their product and its capabilities. Each custom study report is designed to allow reproducibility and to circumvent or eliminate doubt while demonstrating the full potential of a product or process. We work closely with our clients to keep them informed on all aspects of testing and research. Testing is conducted under our ISO17025:2017 scope of accreditation.
Additionally, we actively conduct studies to validate device microbiocidal efficacy, disinfection efficacy testing*, disinfection validation, antimicrobial testing, sanitizer validation, antiviral efficacy testing, process challenge, and microbiological consulting. We incorporate Standard Methods, AOAC, ASTM, EPA, BAM, and inventive methodologies to generate reliable and accurate data. Studies are fully customizable and provide detailed reports that enable our clients to demonstrate the full potential of their product or process and to set a direction for future testing. At the client's request, studies are conducted according to GOOD LABORATORY PRACTICE STANDARDS (GLP) as per 40 CFR Part 160 - US Environmental Protection Agency and thereby provide fully defensible, detailed information to regulatory agencies for product registration and claim validations.
